Met Police Chigwell - Match report
Sameer won the toss and chose to bat on an under prepared bone dry wicket that left bigger divots than a hacker on the golf course each time the ball hit the deck. Despite losing Rohan to one that popped off a length and Arthur to a caught and bowled inside the 6th over and Mark in the 9th, Myddelton, thanks largely to an aggressive partnership of 56 between Brad (39) and Dave Brown (55) in 8 overs followed by Sameer (23) and Anuj (20) reached a more than impressive 176 all out and a likely victory was in sight.
Terry, with the score on 6 had opener Light lbw and all looked to be going to plan. Although Ian Barrell pulled Terry for four boundaries including a large six over mid wicket MPC never threatened to reach their target with wickets falling at regular intervals while playing too many big shots. Both Terry and Sameer finished good spells with 2 wickets a piece and Alan and Anuj with equally good spells finished off the innings 8 overs early with Alan claiming two wickets and Anuj four. Dave Brown was named M.O.M. for his 55 and 3 catches.
